Fiery Solutions and the Art of the Deal

Lieutenant Ray L.

Ray’s Take on Episode 14: “Progress”

Let me start off by saying that tingling lobes might be the sign of a pinched nerve or a Ferengi STD instead of Opportunity…

“I won’t be long”- famous last words in this situation.

Kira meets someone as stubborn as her. Imminent domain and forced relocation, even when it’s for the common good, creates some significant ethical dilemmas. Kira has an obvious internal struggle to come to grips with the fact that, after living her life as a Revolutionary, she is now, in effect, The Man.

I’d say that Kira could probably use a good massage after sleeping in that chair.

Shooting a hold out IS a solution, just not a good solution.  Conversely, arson is a great and acceptable solution. FUEGO!

I love the boys exploring the art of the deal.  One never knows where trading commodities will take them.

The Ferengi remind me of Deveels, and their lesser cousins, the Imps from Myth Adventures, a book series by Robert Asprin with illustrations by Phil Foglio. One of the warnings about deals with them was “If you think you’ve gotten a good deal from a Deveel, first count your fingers, then your limbs, then your relatives.” That advice applies to the Ferengi as well…
