Ray’s Take on Episode 7: “Dax”
Again, Bashir tries so hard, too hard. I’m feeling bad for the guy. You have to admire his persistence.
Almost every episode, ghosts and sins from the past come back to haunt the gang. Very non-linear time, don’t you think? It gives a sense of history and continuity, which is unusual this early in a series and serves to remind us that this IS very much Star Trek.
I’m pretty sure Jim would describe me the way Sisko describes Curzon. [Editorial Note: Jim would describe Ray as occasionally enjoying life to excess while living honorably. And…probably…not committing any treason or murders.]
Kira argues the technicalities of extradition and proves that she and Sisko are a force to be taken seriously.
Odo isn’t above a little extortion.

Madam Arbiter is Mom from Futurama. LOL.
Sisko is a great leader, wanting to be informed of “wrong answers.” Odo makes a great detective, by the way.
“Drank a little too much, too interested in women” sounds very familiar… [Editorial Note: See note above.]
Statutes of limitations should apply to everything, especially clothes and hair. Every seven years, all of our cells have been replaced so technically we are no longer the same person. It’s the Ship of Theseus.
Starfleet defense attorneys would have it so easy. My client was possessed by an alien lifeform, exposed to exotic energy, replaced by his mirror universe doppelganger, imitated by a shapeshifter, or a time traveling version of himself. *sigh* Case dismissed.
