Ray’s Take on Episode 18: “Duet”
Star Trek medicine is rough. Bashir runs into a condition that he hasn’t heard of before.
Kira hates hard, understandably so. The Cardassian/Nazi parallels are obvious and the complex interplay of the various factions with different regulations, jurisdictions and priorities makes for an intricate and intriguing interplay. Pretty heavy stuff for TV Sci Fi.
Rule by fear and propaganda, revisionist history, unfortunately these things are far too real.
Gul Dukat nails the smug, subtle menace approach.

So many layers of subtle misdirection and mistrust makes for a dizzying episode. Odo and Dukat “working together again” has got to be uncomfortable.
“The pain. The sorrow. Do you think they like to gamble?” You gotta love Quark.
Harris Yulin, from Scarface and Ghostbusters 2, really rants well. Seems like it would be pretty intense to witness on set.
Marritza feels guilty for not being guilty. Man, that is one complicated and convoluted, confusing mind set to comprehend. And Kira comes to realize that there actually are decent Cardassians. And bad Bajorans with blades…
