Ray’s Take on Episode 10: “The Nagus”

The Rules of Acquisition should be taught in every Economics class.
The staff head looks like Yogurt from Spaceballs.
Wallace Shawn as the Grand Nagus. Inconceivable!
Sisko is suffering from dad growing pains.
Rom, Space Knight was a toy and comic series, set in West Virginia.
PADDs predicted and predated the iPad.

Ferengi culture reminds me of the Venetians in the Age of Exploration (Exploitation). The clothing is similar. Machiavellian in the extreme with a healthy dose of the Roman Senate and Mafia. After Nero’s death, Rome went through five Emperors in two years…
Leave it to the younger generation to bridge cultural differences. Sisko gets to see first hand that he is raising a great young man.
The episode was a great glimpse of Ferengi culture. Quark being proud of Rom’s treachery fits nicely.
If you’re ever trapped in an airlock, NEVER say “Open up!”
