Heartwarming and harrowing

Ray’s Take on Episode 2.3: “The Siege”

Sisko can deliver quite the motivational monologue.

Quark can find the profit in any situation.

The friendship between Jake and Nog has evolved into something quite heartwarming.

As an aside, if you are a Star Trek fan and like steampunk, check out Steam-Trek, the Voyages of the HMS Dauntless.  Imagine Star Trek meets Space 1889. It’s a neat concept and the website is fun to browse through, if you’re into that kind of thing.

O’Brien has history with the Cardassians. Needless to say, he is NOT fond of them.

The Quark induced panic at the airlock made me think of what it must have been like on the Titanic.

Li Nalas has really grown into his role as a heroic symbol.

The interaction between Benjamin and Jake really tugs at this father’s heartstrings.

Quark should be impressed by Rom for betraying him for a Dabo girl. I’m fairly certain that was Quark’s plan, Rom just beat him to it.

Colonel Day is played by Steven Weber from the series Wings, which no one will remember. But, he played Jonathan Harker in Dracula: Dead and Loving It, which if you haven’t seen yet, you should. Leslie Nielson and Mel Brook make a great Dracula and Van Helsing. I remember this guy that played Harker to my Van Helsing decades ago… [Editor’s Note: Lieutenant Ray and Admiral Jim were in a dinner theater troupe circa 1993.]

Bashir pulls off an excellent ambush.

While I admire Dax’s optimism, I think Kira may have some significant psychotic tendencies.

Why would Kira think that giving Vedek Karen the evidence is a good idea? Winn already revealed her true nature to Kira. I know it might have been politically necessary, I just hope Kira doesn’t think that Winn still has any credibility or ethics.

Li Nalas completes his arc…
