Garak and Quark make this episode

Ray’s Take on Episode 2.18: “Profit and Loss”

Bashir and Garak debate ethics. I thoroughly enjoy their verbal fencing.

Let’s just agree that Quark has very little luck with the ladies, which is unexpected for such a handsome and charming being. “You shot me!” Quark loves hard.

Cardassian politics are scary. Garak gets some great interaction with Quark and Sisko. I love the fashion metaphor, especially coming from a former assassin.

Again, the Bajorans have no qualms about throwing others under the proverbial bus if it furthers Bajoran interests.

Quark comes clean to Odo, and Odo’s subtle good luck speaks volumes.

Garak and Quark are probably my two favorite characters and I really enjoyed getting to see so much of them this episode.
