Ray’s Take on Episode 2.6: “Melora”

Melora is played by Daphne Ashbrook who starred as Grace Holloway in the American Doctor Who movie.
One would imagine, given his dealings, Quark would be somewhat used to threats on his life. But, he does seem to instinctively attempt to mollify his would-be assassin with drink, food and women, so I gather it isn’t his first rodeo.
Klingon food resembles Pervish cuisine from Myth Adventures. Speaking of Pervish, Bashir comes off as a bit of a stalker with his exhaustive study of Ensign Melora. But, it works for him in this case. I’m pretty sure that isn’t the best dating strategy.
Vulcan music probably follows the mathematical precision that we find in Mozart.
While I was previously concerned about interspecies mating and its particulars, I hadn’t considered the impracticalities of interspecies romance. Romance and relationship within a species is difficult enough. The mind boggles!

Is it wrong for me to point out that the very first patient Bashir was responsible for died? The poor guy has such lousy luck.
Unfortunately, in the real world even, the police aren’t there to provide bodyguard service, protect or even prevent crime, rather they just clean up after the fact.
Obviously, Starfleet Medical Ethics must turn a blind eye when it comes to dating a patient.
I think it was Oscar Wilde who wrote “the two worst things are wanting something, and getting it.”
Say what you want about Klingons, they do love their food and music.
